About HLBullion
What is HLBullion?
HLBullion is the trading name of Havilah Liberty Pty Ltd (ABN 51 692 923 443), a precious metals dealer based in South Australia. HLBullion sells gold and silver bullion to customers throughout Australia and is registered with AUSTRAC.
Does HLBullion sell both gold and silver?
Yes. HLBullion sells investment-grade gold and silver bullion (bars, coins and rounds) sourced from recognised mints. Current products, prices and availability are shown in the online store.
Where is HLBullion based?
HLBullion is based in South Australia. Its registered office is in Glenunga, SA, and it serves customers Australia-wide by insured delivery, phone and email.
Does HLBullion provide financial advice?
No. HLBullion is a precious metals dealer and does not provide financial product, investment or taxation advice. Information on the website is general in nature; seek independent professional advice for your circumstances.
How do I contact HLBullion?
Call 0400 000 152, email liberty@hlbullion.com, or send an enquiry through the contact page.
Buying bullion
How do I buy bullion from HLBullion?
Choose products online or ask HLBullion for a quote by phone or email. Your identity is verified, the price is locked once you accept a quote and HLBullion secures your bullion, and you pay in full by bank transfer before it is delivered or placed into storage.
How do I pay for bullion?
Payment is made in full, in cleared funds, before bullion is shipped or handed over. Bank transfer is accepted. HLBullion does not accept cryptocurrency.
Can someone else pay for my order?
If someone other than the purchaser funds an order, HLBullion may require additional information and verification, or may decline the transaction, as part of its AML/CTF controls.
Can I cancel an order?
Because bullion prices move constantly, HLBullion does not accept change-of-mind cancellations or returns once a locked price has been accepted. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
Prices
How are bullion prices set?
HLBullion’s prices reflect the spot market price of the metal plus a product premium, which covers factors such as minting, supply, hedging, availability and margin. Quoted prices are indicative until your order is locked.
When is my price locked?
A price is locked once you have accepted HLBullion’s quote, met any compliance and payment conditions, and HLBullion has secured your bullion from its suppliers.
What if the price rises before my order is locked?
If spot price movements increase the price of your bullion by more than 5% before your order is locked in, HLBullion will seek your approval before proceeding.
Are the prices in the market ticker HLBullion’s buy or sell prices?
No. The ticker shows international spot prices as a market reference. Product prices include a premium over spot and are shown on each product page.
Delivery & ownership
Where does HLBullion deliver?
HLBullion sells and ships within Australia only. Orders are sent by insured courier and require a signature on delivery. Secure storage with an independent vault provider can be arranged instead of delivery.
Can someone else receive or collect my bullion?
Yes, but a third party collecting on your behalf must be pre-approved by HLBullion, and identification may be required at handover.
When does the bullion become mine?
Ownership passes once HLBullion has received payment in full in cleared funds and the transaction is complete. Risk passes to you on delivery to your nominated address.
SMSF purchases
Can I buy bullion through my self-managed super fund (SMSF)?
Yes. HLBullion supplies precious metals to SMSF trustees. Purchases by an SMSF require the fund’s identification documents, such as a certified trust deed, as part of standard AML/CTF due diligence. HLBullion does not provide financial advice, so trustees should confirm any purchase suits their fund’s investment strategy.
What documents does an SMSF need to provide?
HLBullion’s due diligence for trusts and SMSFs includes a certified copy of the trust deed and any amendments, together with identification for the individuals involved.
Can bullion bought by my SMSF be stored?
HLBullion can arrange storage with an independent third-party vault provider. Trustees remain responsible for ensuring the fund’s storage and record-keeping arrangements meet their obligations.
Can HLBullion help with SMSF tax or structuring questions?
HLBullion can connect clients with its partnered CPA and registered Tax Agent, who provides guidance independently. HLBullion itself does not provide taxation, financial or legal advice.
Storage
Does HLBullion store bullion?
HLBullion can arrange secure storage with independent third-party vault providers, including for bullion you already own. The vault provider is the custodian and storage is governed by the provider’s own agreement.
Who is responsible for bullion in storage?
The independent storage provider is the custodian. HLBullion does not operate the vault. Allocation, insurance, access, fees and liability are set out in the provider’s storage agreement, which you enter into directly.
Can I store bullion I already own?
Yes. HLBullion can help arrange secure storage for bullion clients already hold, so their precious metals can be consolidated in one place.
Can I sell bullion that is held in storage?
Yes. HLBullion can assist with quoting, settlement and payment when you sell stored bullion.
Selling bullion
Can I sell my bullion to HLBullion?
Yes. HLBullion buys back bullion. Items are inspected and verified, identification is required, and payment is made once verification and any legal holding requirements are complete. Final pricing depends on the item and its condition.
Is the price I’m quoted when selling final?
Buy-back quotes are indicative until HLBullion has inspected and verified the items. The price may be adjusted for condition, damage, missing packaging, or where refining is required.
How long does it take to be paid?
Payment can depend on identity verification, AML/CTF checks, authenticity checks and South Australian second-hand goods requirements, which may require goods to be held for a period (commonly described as 10 days) before resale.
What do I need to sell bullion?
Valid identification and the details required for statutory records. You must own the bullion and be entitled to sell it. Original packaging and mint documentation help verification.
Identity & compliance
Is HLBullion registered with AUSTRAC?
Yes. HLBullion is enrolled and registered with AUSTRAC, Australia’s financial intelligence agency, and operates a documented AML/CTF program.
Why do I need to provide identification?
As an AUSTRAC-registered bullion dealer, HLBullion must verify customer identity under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006. This protects customers and the integrity of the bullion market.
Does HLBullion report transactions to AUSTRAC?
Where required by law. For example, cash transactions of $10,000 or more are reported to AUSTRAC as Threshold Transaction Reports, and suspicious matters are reported as required.
Does HLBullion accept cryptocurrency?
No. HLBullion does not transact in cryptocurrency and does not facilitate international funds transfers.
