Silver in Australian dollars
Like gold, silver is priced internationally in US dollars. The Australian-dollar silver price reflects the US-dollar price and the AUD/USD exchange rate.
The gold/silver ratio
The gold/silver ratio is the gold price divided by the silver price: how many ounces of silver equal one ounce of gold at current spot prices. It is a descriptive measure only, not a forecast.
From spot to product price
Silver bars, coins and rounds are priced at spot plus a product premium. As a percentage of the metal’s value, premiums are generally higher for silver than for gold. See spot price and premiums.
